Well the latest version of Second Life to come down the pipeline has been released.

Most notable changes thus far:

PROS -

1. HUGE interface redux. Buttons and pretty much the entire look and feel of SL has changed for the GUI. Sometimes change is good, sometimes it's bad. Most times this depends on the eye of the beholder. In which case I would have to say it's a definite improvement from the old "look" but still needs some work.

2. You can now embed interactive web content (i.e. flash, java, etc.) on the face of a prim. A massive jump in tech for SL. This will certainly open up an entire world of possibilities for developers. I can't wait to see what types of apps and games they come up with.

CONS -

1. Not much really, but some small things to notice right away, "communicate" button or area is a little hard to get used to (it's new location and utility is a bit slow to absorb at first) but who knows, this may grow on you after time.

2. Much less customizable options. This is a sort of good/bad change. For newbs it's wonderful. No more complaints about the interface being to complicated or "elitist". Nubs can plug away just like most standard game set-ups on their first day. For more advanced users, like me, we are missing quite a few options.

They may be there somewhere in the interface (I am sure I missed a few things). This is just my first impressions. I'll update you all with more as I come across it.

Some of you may remember Anrukus, others not so much. You may more recognize his 2 sons, Voltage & Dungeon, as they are in Vent where as he doesn't come around so much anymore.

Well, Anrukus may be M.I.A. to the internet world but he is still alive-n-kickin' in the RL one. So here is a little sumpin' he and my Aunt have been working on together over the past couple months. Stop by and check it out!

Ok, here we go! Got some serious shiznat in the mix for our community next couple of months!

1st and foremost, my pet project & OpenSIM are still in the kitchen and I am still cooking something up for that. For now, all is running smoothly. We have had a couple new registrars and people are starting to take notice. I anticipate an increase in that as activity picks up. We have a base sim up with some terrain, trees and buildings. ALL UC community have free access and can lay claim to their own piece of land.

UberVerse is officially out of beta and into solid state, fully running, 24/7 never going down. So things you create or build will remain until which time you delete them (please don't abuse this). If you wanna' come lay your claim, now would be the best time, as we do have people signing up pretty regularly now and we will run out of land at about 12-16 sims depending on the server load.
